The Shapton Kuromaku #320 is a coarse ceramic whetstone for heavy-duty sharpening tasks — restoring a damaged edge, removing chips, or setting a new bevel angle from scratch. It removes material quickly and stays flat longer than most coarse stones at this grit.
As a ceramic stone, it requires only a splash of water on the surface to use — no soaking. After use with the #320, move to the #1,000 to refine the edge before finishing.
